| This was everything I was looking for! :) | 2010-08-18 | 5 / 5 |
| | I had been wanting a fisheye lens/adapter for my Canon Rebel T1i for awhile now. The only problem was that I had no idea how to begin to find a decent yet cheap one. My experience with photography was very minimal, and I was afraid of buying something that didn't work. Honestly, I was just looking for something that could spit out some cool effects. Let me just say that this was the perfect thing for the job. It comes in a very nicely packaged box and the lens itself is in a small leather-like bag. I was immediately impressed. Everything from the adapter rings to the lens is very solidly built (does not feel like cheap quality). At first, I was nervous because there were no instructions for attaching the fisheye to the actual lens. However, it is very easy to figure out and I was able to put mine together within minutes. I've taken a few test shots and so far so good. When the lens is zoomed all the way out, there is a dark circle (vignetting) around the image. Also, the outer edge of the photo circle is somewhat blurry. However, in my opinion, it adds to a very cool effect. All in all, I think this is a great product especially for the price you pay. If you simply want something that can produce a nice fisheye, this is the product for you! |
| Great Product for the Price | 2010-05-14 | 4 / 5 |
| I bought this conversion lens for my Canon Rebel XSi about 5 months ago. For its low price, I do feel that it was worth the price. The conversion fish eye, macro, and step up ring are all made of metal and glass. The lens itself feels solid and durable.
I normally mounted it onto my Canon 18-55mm EF-S kit lens, and it does add some size and weight to the lens, it is far from uncomfortable. There was some creep from the kit lens when the fisheye was attached, but did not become an issue. The image quality, while not very impressive, was expected at this low of a price. As mentioned in a previous review, it seems that best results are obtained when using manual focus.
The fisheye/wide angle is fun to play around with, but with this lens, that is all I feel I can do with it. If you want clear, usable pictures, I would suggest you save even this small amount of money for something else. But if you want to explore fish eye just for fun, then this conversion lens will work for you. |
| good but not great | 2010-03-19 | 4 / 5 |
| | good for the money, have to really mess with it to get super "fisheye" look, but you can totally do it, and the price is hard to beat. |
| cheap solution | 2010-03-16 | 4 / 5 |
| | The product works as described, although the quality of photos aren't going to be as nice as an actual fisheye lens (which will really cost you). If you're looking to play with a fish-eye or taking some macro shots, this is a cheap solution. I've used this product with my Canon Rebel XT, and a canon lens (18-55mm) the adapter ring works fine, and it is metal which is a plus. The only thing I don't like about the ring is that it must be taken off so the cap can fit over the fisheye lens when you're done using it. |
| Good price and well worth it | 2010-02-11 | 4 / 5 |
| I purchased this lens and I've been having a lot of fun with it. I'm a photographer who helps promote local bands in my area and all of the bands love the fisheye look when they're playing live shows. It adds a great dynamic to the photos that really engages the viewer.
This lens is extremely easy to clean. It comes with a small microfiber wipe and you can take it apart for easy cleaning. It also comes with two ring attachments so you can fit it to other lenses. I've had pretty good luck with my 50mm 1.8 aperture, however I have to set the aperture to at least 4.5 because it blurs the image but at this higher aperture it gives it a much wider angle. On my 18-55mm macro lens, this thing really shines. Especially if you remove the macro lens attachment to get super macro shots. I love this attachment.
All in all, it was money well spent. |
